When will I need a Women's winter wetsuit
Depending on where you are in the UK will alter when you change from summer wetsuit to winter, here in Kent most people will use a winter wetsuit for nearly 6 months of the year November till April, and then a summer for the other 6 months a part from the odd really hot day, Kitesurfers and windsurfers may use them for longer as they are always out in the wind.
How should a winter wetsuit fit ?
The fitting of A ladies winter wetsuits is very important, winter wetsuits need to be a snug fit like a second skin to work as best as they can. In our store in Whitstable Kent you are welcome to come and try them on, our staff can give you guidance on which ladies winter wetsuit will be the best for your needs along with the best fit, and also tips to help you when trying the wetsuits on.
We sell 5/4 or 5/3mm women's winter wetsuits in both chest and back zip designs, you may find that a back zip winter wetsuit is easier to get on and off, due to its longer zip that gives you a larger opening to get into the suit from, while a chest zip wetsuit will offer a better neck seal so less chance of a cold water flush, and more stretch in the back panel, chest zip suits do require a different technique to get on and off, due to the smaller opening, our staff will be happy to help.
Wetsuits and thermal linings, most mid-range ladies winter wetsuits will have a thermal lined chest and back panel, the higher end winter wetsuits will add more thermal lining which will keep you warmer and also help the suit to dry faster, if your wetsuit does not have a thermal lining you can buy thermal rash vests to add warmth to the wetsuit. Other features you will gain on the high end women's winter wetsuits can be fully taped seams and liquid seams, both help keep water out and also give the wetsuit seams a longer lifespan, softer or stretchier neoprene this will give the suit a nicer and wider range of fit and will also allow better moment with less resistance, so you can surf, swim or kite for longer, the downside to the performance stretchy neoprene's is you will need to look after the suit more and the lifespan may not be as long as a lesser neoprene.
We stock a wide range of winter wetsuits and our 2 best-selling women's winter wetsuit brands are O'Neill and C-skins which both offer a great range of wetsuits, its always good to come and try on wetsuits as different brands are cut to different templates so a UK 12 in one brand can have a different fit to another UK 12, these are suitable for all water sports and very popular with surfers, kitesurfing and paddleboarding.
